I am Bahadir from the town of Lüleburgazd in Turkey. One day during the summer vacation, I came across NTV's documentary about Greta Thunberg, climate change and global warming. It impressed me. I immediately followed Greta, and the Turkish Fridays For Future account from Instagram. Until then, I did not know that there was such an organization of high school students and young people around the world. They called it a school strike for the climate. It was beautiful. After a certain time I saw climate activists in Turkey and activities in Turkey. I attended Sevda Öztürk's climate strike in July 19th at Kadiköy Koşu Parkı. I started to feel really good. I attended to couple of activities and learned about global strikes. The third global strike is on September 20th. We students gathered at Kadiköy. Seeing young people from various cities across Turkey, together, trying create solutions for climate change and global warming made me really happy. Going to the strike on July 19th and afterwords was really hard. People around me, especially my brother, thought I was dealing with insignificant problems. But I know how serious and important these matters are. It is possible to reach all kinds of information and reports through the internet. I hope governments will do what is necessary regarding climate change problems and will have political solutions so that people around the world can become more aware of the situation in time. We will not give up.
